The West Toronto Rail Path (WTRP) access located at 150 Sterling (between 128 Sterling and the Auto Building) will be temporarily relocated North to facilitate work onsite by Rio Tinto.
Marlin Spring and Hines have been instrumental in working to provide a new temporary access path to and from the West Toronto Rail Path to Sterling/Perth for West Toronto Rail Path users.
Signage has been installed to inform WTRP users of the temporary access path which will remain open until works on the permanent path begin in Spring 2021.
Signage also informs users/community of the closing of the interim WTRP access at 150 Sterling. This closure is necessary to ensure public and worker safety while Rio Tinto carries out work related to the Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) along the southern property line of the Hines development on Sterling Road.
Rio Tinto contractors will be on site for roughly 8 weeks starting January 11, 2021. All Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MOECP), City of Toronto and Toronto Public Health regulations and COVID guidelines will be adhered to while on site.
