Good morning residents and community members,

It has been a few months since we have provided an update on the public realm improvements that are under construction, so we wanted to provide a comprehensive update on the project:

As of the beginning of February, the works required as part of Phase I (new WTRP connection, realignment of Perth Avenue and utility work associated, new sidewalks on north/south sides of Sterling east of Sterling/Perth) have been completed. In early March Hines and Marlin Spring submitted to the city full documentation confirming the work has been completed per the design and recommended the opening of the improvements as soon as possible. In order for the WTRP connection and the new Perth Avenue to be opened, and for the work on Phase II (closure of the existing Perth and the temporary parking lot off of Sterling to create a new park) to begin, the city needs to complete their review of our work and the documentation we’ve provided, accept the work completed, and open the new Perth Avenue through adoption of a bylaw at Council. We have asked the Councillor’s office for support in helping us push members of staff to promptly review our work and open the Phase I improvements as soon as they can as we know how important these improvements are to the community.
